Alderney Literary Festival – March 2025

Hugely enjoyed my visit to Alderney to speak at its wonderful Festival. Of the ten authors seven were stranded for the night at Southampton because of fog in Alderney, which meant we all had a chance to bond. We finally got there the next day by flying to Guernsey then taking the boat over choppy waters to Alderney where there was a last hurdle – a ladder to climb to the jetty. Most exciting!

The Festival itself was delightful with very cultured and enthusiastic audiences, lots of wonderful conversations and lots of book sales. And coming back the little plane actually flew – a nineteen seater propeller plane, a wonderful experience in itself. Loved meeting the other authors, and the Festival, and the journey there and back.
